I have...a lot of live recordings of Wide Streets. More than any other band (about twenty as I'm writing this). Sure, recording them so many times has made me a better sound engineer, but that's not why I do it. I've known Wide Streets since before Wide Streets, when they were Wildlife Quartet, Kaspar Hauser, Jet and the Jets, etc. They've always documented their progress, and it just seemed natural to join them in it. Their music is constantly evolving, and constantly worth recording. Even now, they are poised to record their fifth album (in two years!) live at their house. I will probably bring my recorder too, just for fun. As long as Wide Streets are a band, they will be worth recording.
This collection of songs showcases the band at different times, environments, line-ups, and even moods. It is marked by distinctively different fidelity from track to track. It showcases the band's progress, and dare I say it, my own. All recordings are were done on a Zoom H2n Handy Recorder in the year 2012.
